Lietuvininkų tautinio identiteto problema Christiano Gottliebo Mielcke's darbuose

LTMielcke'ių šeima Mažosios Lietuvos raštijos istorijoje paliko žymų pėdsaką. Trys šeimos vyrai – tėvas Peteris Gottliebas bei du sūnūs – Christianas Gottliebas ir Danielius Friedrichas – Mielcke's – beveik visą XVIII amžių kartu dirbo prie lietuviškų raštų. Iki šiol nėra atsakytas Mielcke'ių tautybės klausimas. Tikėtina, kad, bent jau iš tėvo pusės, šeimos kiltis buvo lietuviška. Visi šeimos nariai pabrėžia lietuvių kalbą mokėję iš mažumės taip gerai kaip savo gimtąją. Vis dėlto Christianas Gottliebas Mielcke nei laiškuose, nei teoriniuose darbuose ar grožiniuose kūriniuose nesutapatina savęs su lietuvininkais. Chr. G. Mielcke's, taip kaip ir tėvo P. G. Mielckes, lituanistinio darbo motyvaciją lėmė patriotinė tuometinės Prūsijos valdžios politika, skatinusi pilietinio paklusnumo bei liuteronizmo skleidimą, bei tokios valdžios politikos sąlygotas raštijos vietinėmis kalbomis leidybos rėmimas. Tačiau Mielcke'ių pasiaukojamas lituanistinis darbas, nuoširdus rūpestis lietuvininkų kultūros reikalais, tikėjimas atliktų darbų prasmingumu rodo, jog būta ir labai stiprios asmeninės motyvacijos. ENThe Mielcke family left a significant mark on the history of the written word of Lithuania Minor. Three males of the family - Petras the father, and his two sons Christian Gottlieb and Daniel Friedrich - worked together for the Lithuanian written word for almost the entire 18th century. However, the question of the Mielcke family‘s identity has not been answered. It is believed that, at least on the father‘s side, that the family had Lithuanian roots. All members of the family emphasised that they knew Lithuanian since their childhood as well as their mother tongue. However Christian Gottlieb Mielcke never identified himself with the Lietuvininkai in his letters, theoretical works or works of fiction. The motivation for Christian Gottlieb Mielcke for writing about Lithuanian language works, like his father Petras G. Mielcke, was determined by the patriotic policy of the Prussian government at the time, which was to encourage the spread of civic pride and Lutheranism, and the conditional support for such a policy by the government was the publishing of the written word in local languages. However the Mielckes‘ selfless works about Lithuanian language, heartfelt concern with issues of Lietuvininkai culture, and belief in the meaning of the work they did, shows that there was a very strong personal motivation.
