Taip pat, remiantis tyrimo duomenimis, atskleidžiamas ir nagrinėjamas tėvų požiūris į profesinio orientavimo paslaugas, teikiamas bendrojo lavinimo mokyklose mokiniams bei jų tėvams. ENVocational guidance plays one of the most important roles in the European Union context that is encouraging life-long learning, occupation, labor force and equal rights. Vocational guidance is relevant with economical and social policy, with life-long strategically directions. According to this, the development guidelines are noted. In the Beginning of practical approach of Lithuanian educational reforms and vocational guidance strategy, the need of empirical research had increased. Thus, in April-May of 2006 there was empirical research "Parents" approach to vocational guidance at school". It was important to enclose parent's approach about vocational guidance and education at basic school in Lithuania. The purpose of the research — to explore parent's approach about vocational guidance and education at basic school in Lithuania. The goals of the research: 1. To set the privity of parents (of X—XII grade) about vocational guidance and the quality at basic school. 2. To analyze parent's approach about expression of vocational guidance at school. 3. To explore the opinion of parents about the effectiveness of vocational guidance at school. The methods of the research: 1. The analysis of pedagogical, psychological literature and national content analysis. 2. Structured survey for the parents of VII—XII grades in basic schools; 3. Statistical data analysis.The results of the research. The were 450 participants in the research from parents of basic school. One fifth of participants noted that the is enough of information about the professions for the re children. Parents that has secondary education, noted that school provides enough of information in vocational guidance. More rarely this was noted from parents that had higher or college education. One out of the ten parents thinks, their children get enough of information about labor market and its need in society. The half of all participants expressed the lack of information at school in vocational guidance, labor market, and the process of choosing the future profession. The researched showed that the biggest parts of participants understand the purpose of vocational guidance. More than one third of all participants noted that the tutor of class rarely provides information about new professions and tendencies in labor market. They also expressed the need of professionals at school for vocational guidance. Analyzing the data it was noted that school do not provide effective vocational guidance. The big part of the participants the vocational guidance evaluate as poor and not sufficient. Participants recommended organizing seminars for students and for parents in order to provide more effective information about labor market and its needs. Thus, vocational guidance at schools is not sufficient, even theoretical reasoning of vocational guidance is noted. [From the publication]
