Paslaptingojo Antakalnio riterio antkapis

LT1668 m. ardant senosios Šv. Petro ir Pauliaus bažnyčios Vilniaus Antakalnyje altorių po jo pamatais rastas pilnafigūris antkapis. Asmuo buvo pavaizduotas aprengtas šarvais, ant krūtinės auksinė grandinė, o šalimais senu įpročiu pavaizduotas kalavijas. Asmuo vaizduotas be barzdos ir vienplaukis (be karūnos ar kitokio galvos apdangalo). Nebuvo jokių asmenį ar giminę liudijančių ženklų. Tuo metu antkapis priskirtas legendiniam Antakalnio bažnyčios fundatoriui Petrui Goštautui. Vėlesnis antkapio likimas nėra žinomas. Straipsnyje analizuojami ankstyviausi antkapiai Lietuvoje XVI a. viduryje – XVII a. pradžioje. Stengiamasi pateikti įmanomas hipotezes, kam galėjo priklausyti šis tuo metu neatpažintas antkapis, kokiu būdu jis pateko po senosios bažnyčios altoriumi. ENIn 1688 while dismantling the altar of St. Peter and St. Paul‘s Church in the Antakalnis neighbourhood of Vilnius, a full grave of a figure was found under its foundation. This person was depicted as being dressed in armour and a gold chain on his chest, while nearby a sword is depicted as was typical of ancient custom. The person is depicted without a beard and bareheaded (without a crown or other form of headcover). There were no signs bearing evidence of identity or origin. At the time the grave was attributed to Petras Goštautas, the legendary founder of the Antakalnis church. The later fate of the grave is not known. The earliest graves in Lithuania from the middle of the 16th century to the beginning of the 17th century are analysed in this article. Efforts are made to provide possible hypotheses as to whom this grave that was not recognised at the time could have belonged to, and in what way it found itself under the altar of the old church. The history of Vytautas’ grave, laid in Vilnius Cathedral in the middle of the 16th century and which disappeared in the first half of the 16th century, is examined in greater detail.
