LTStraipsnyje analizuojamas nepublikuotas arkivyskupo Mečislovo Reinio dokumentas - "Išlaidų knygelė", apimanti 1924 m. gruodžio-1929 m. gegužės mėnesius. Užrašų knygelėje fiksuotos kiekvieno mėnesio (nurodomos dienos) išlaidos: kam išleista ir kiek sumokėta. Išlaidas straipsnio autorė grupuoja pagal jų paskirtį: išleista sau, aukota kitiems (pavieniams asmenims, 48 organizacijoms). Pirmąsyk pateiktame dokumente faktais pagrindžiama arkivyskupo Mečislovo Reinio plati mecenatoriška veikla. "Išlaidų knygelė" praplečia žinias apie tuometinę aplinką - buitį, paties knygelės autoriaus gyvenimo ir veiklos faktus, santykius su giminaičiais (stipendijos studijuojantiems, rūpinimasis ir finansinė parama ligos atveju, meilė gimtinei). ENThe fourth "Book of Expenditures" of Archbishop Mečislovas Reinys, comprising 54 months (December 1924-May 1929) is very important for persons doing research on the life and activities of this Servant of God. The "Book of Expenditures" is particularly important in discussing lesser known areas of his activities, revealing the archbishop's extremely modest living conditions, confirming his wide activities as a donor. The article gives particular attention to the three groups of his donor activities: relatives, individual persons and organizations. Reinys was especially concerned with persons who were seeking higher education. He assisted the schooling of more than one person by providing regular scholarships throughout the whole period of studies, while also giving substantial one time gifts to others. This book reveals his concern for the Catholic press. The document shows the care of Reinys for his brothers, sisters, and their families, love for his homeland Madagaskaras, assistance to the farm. In the "Book of Expenditures" one can also see the third supported group: 48 various societies, foundations, organizations (youth and adult), unions, museums, institutions, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, the parish in which he was born. Specific sums and dates are provided. The financial support of Reinys in strengthening Catholic activities had an undisputed effect on the spread of these activities in Lithuania. It supplemented the ranks of the educated, stimulated the activities of Catholic organizations, contributed to creating conditions for the press to survive. [From the publication]
