Šv. Kazimiero relikvijos ir relikvijoriai

LT1579 m. Romoje atradus katakombas prasidėjo kankinių relikvijų kulto atgimimas. Baroko epochoje atgijo ne tik pirmųjų amžių kankinių, bet ir vietinių šventųjų relikvijų kultas. Vykstant katalikiškajai Reformai formavosi ir šv. Kazimiero (1458-1484) kultas. Apie šv. Kazimiero relikvijas ir jų dalijimą pirmieji hagiografai nekalba, bet visi pažymi faktą, kad prie palaimintojo karalaičio kapo vyko stebuklų. Ankstyvieji šv. Kazmiero kulto šaltiniai liudija, kad jo kapas nepaprastai greitai tapo malonių vieta. Straipsnyje analizuojama Šv. Kazimiero relikvijų dalijimo istorija. Pirmą kartą šv. Kazimiero karstas buvo atidarytas 1604 m. Spėjama, kad XVII a. viduryje relikvijas dosniai dalijo vysk. Jurgis Tiškevičius (l649-1655). Tikėtina, kad aktyviausiai relikvijos galėjo būti dalijamos XVII a., tačiau mus pasiekę šv. Kazimiero relikvijoriai su relikvijomis dažniausiai yra XIX pabaigos-XX a. pradžios ir tik keletas XVII-XVIII a. Galbūt susidėvėjus seniesiems relikvijoriams šventojo relikvijos vėliau būdavo perkeliamos į naujus. Tačiau reikėtų pažymėti, kad XVII-XVIII a. bažnyčių inventoriuose šv. Kazimiero relikvijos ir relikvijoriai minimi itin retai, ir šie reti pavyzdžiai bažnyčių aprašymuose pasirodo greičiau kaip išimtis, o ne kaip relikvijų paplitimą krašte liudijantis faktas. ENThe discovery of catacombs in Rome in 1579 commenced the resurrection of the cult of martyrs’ relics. The Baroque period saw the resurrection of the cult of relics of both first martyrs and the local saints. The Catholic Reform was accompanied with the formation of the cult of St. Casimirus (1458-1484). The first hagiographers do not talk of the relics of St. Casimirus and their distribution however everyone notes the fact that certain miracles occurred by the grave of the blessed prince. The early sources of the cult of St. Casimirus evidence that his grave quickly became a place of divine grace. The article analyzes the history of dissemination of the relics of St. Casimirus. For the first time the casket of St. Casimirus was opened in 1604. It is likely that in the middle of the 17th century the relics were generously given by bishop Jurgis Tiškevičius (l649-1655) and that at the earliest the relics were commenced to be disseminated in the 17th century however the surviving reliquaries of St. Casimirus with relics are most frequently dated the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century and only several are of the 17th – 18th century. It is likely that upon the deterioration of older reliquaries the relics of the saint were moved to other ones however it should be noted that the relics and reliquaries of St. Casimirus are mentioned especially rarely in the church inventories in the 17th – 18th centuries and such rare examples appear as an exception rather than the fact, evidencing the spread of relics in the land. The article discusses the descriptions of relics of St. Casimirus of 1667, 1677 and 1922. The annex to the article presents factographical materials, which reveal the relevance of the cult of relics of St. Casimirus quite late, i. e. in the 19th and in the beginning of the 20th century.
