Marijampolės ūkio paroda

LTŽemės ūkio parodos pradėtos organizuoti Lietuvoje nuo 19 a. antrosios pusės. Parodas rengė dvarininkai ar jų organizacijos. Marijampolės ūkio paroda, kuri įvyko 1911 m. buvo pirma ir vienintelė paroda iki Pirmojo pasaulinio karo, organizuota tik Lietuvos ūkininkų, nedalyvaujant dvarininkams. Parodą organizavo žemės ūkio draugija Žagrė, kurios veikla buvo gana ekspansyvi ir Marijampolės ūkininkų draugovė, abi atstovaujančios ūkininkus. Tarp žemės ūkio organizacijų buvo ideologinių nesutarimų, nes, galima sakyti, kad vieni iš jų atstovavo dešinį, kiti - kairį sparną. Žagrės atstovai buvo kaltinami klerikalizmu, tie, kurie atstovavo draugovei - bedieviškumu ir socializmu. Ūkininkai, kurie priklausė toms bendrovėms, vis dėlto labiau domėjosi materialiais dalykais, negu ideologija ir todėl nevengė bendradarbiauti, kas sąlygojo, kad organizacijų veikla buvo beveik vienoda. Marijampolės ūkio paroda parodė padidėjusią ūkininkų ekonominę galią, kuri, palyginus su kitomis Lietuvos vietomis, stiprėjo greičiau būtent Suvalkijos regione. Tuo pačiu metu vystėsi ir nacionalinis judėjimas. Todėl ūkio paroda taip pat gali būti laikoma stiprėjančio nacionalinio atgimimo atspindžiu. Marijampolės ūkio paroda yra svarbi Lietuvos ekonominės minties istorijos požiūriu. Ji rodo ūkininkų siekius atsiskirti nuo ankstesnių baudžiavinių santykių su dvarininkais, vis dar išlikusių kai kuriose vietose, siekimą nesitikėti ir nelaukti jokios pagalbos iš dvarininkų, o remtis tik laisvu ūkininkavimu ir pasitikėti tik savimi. ENArrangement of agricultural exhibitions in Lithuania started in the latter half of the 19th century. Exhibitions were arranged by landlords or their organizations. The exhibition of the economy of Marijampolë, which took place in 1911, is the first and the only exhibition before World War I organized solely by Lithuanian farmers without the participation of landlords. The exhibition was organized by the agricultural organizations “Žagrė”, whose activity was quite expansive, and the Marijampolë Farmers’ Society, both representing farmers. There were ideological disagreements among agricultural organizations as, one might say, some of them represented the right, others – the left wing. The “Žagrė’ists” were blamed for clericalism, those representing the Society – for impiety and socialism. The farmers who belonged to these organizations were, however, more interested in economic matters than ideology and therefore did not avoid cooperation making the organizations themselves behave in a similar way. The exhibition of the economy of Marijampolė showed an increase in the economic capacity of farmers, which, compared to other places of Lithuania, enhanced more rapidly namely in the region of Suvalkija. At the same time a national movement developed too. Therefore the exhibition of the economy may also be considered an economic reflection of the strengthening national revival.The exhibition of the economy of Marijampolė is important in view of the history of the Lithuanian economic thought. It manifested the farmers’ ambition to dissociate from formerly serfdom relations with landlords still persisting in some places, determining not to expect or wait for any help from landlords but only trust free farming and rely on one’s own. Hence, the exhibition may also be said to mark some stage of development of the liberal economic thought in Lithuania. [From the publication]
