Pakražančio Švč. Mergelės Marijos Apreiškimo bažnyčia
LTStraipsnyje apžvelgiama Pakražančio Švč. Mergelės Marijos Apreiškimo bažnyčios istorija, architektūra, meno vertybės. Ji ilgai buvo Kražių parapijos filija, tik 1921 m. Pakražantyje įsteigta atskira parapija. Bažnyčią 1767 m. balandžio 18 d. fundavo Bonaventūras ir Kievnarskytė Jasevičiai-Košučiai. Tuo metu bažnyčia buvo neseniai pastatyta, vidus dar nebaigtas įrengti. Kiti šaltiniai nurodo, kad ji pastatyta ir didysis altorius pašventintas dar prieš suteikiant nuolatinę fundaciją - 1765 m. liepos 10 d. Bažnyčia buvo centrinio plano, aštuoniakampė, su prieangiu, dviem zakristijomis, stogas buvo dengtas malksnomis, virš stogo kilo kupolo formos bokštelis ir du bokšteliai. Viduje buvo penki altoriai su iliuziškai tapytais retabulais. 1767 m. įsteigta Šv. Marijos Magdalenos brolija. 1844 m. tarp iškilmingai minimų švenčių įvardytos trys - Švč. Mergelės Marijos Apreiškimo, šv. Antano Paduviečio ir šv. Marijos Magdalenos. Šių titulų altoriai išliko ir dabartinėje bažnyčioje. Medinė, sienų tapyba gausiai puošta bažnyčia 1879 m. sudegė. 1881 m. pastatyta nauja, be didesnių pakeitimų išlikusi iki šių dienų. Ji akmenų ir raudonų plytų mūro, istoristinio stiliaus. Pastato planas atkartoja Žemaitijoje populiarių medinių bažnyčių architektūrą. Altoriai sukurti greičiausiai pačioje XIX a. pabaigoje ar XX a. pradžioje. Tuomet tapyti ir altorių paveikslai, nepasižymintys profesionalumu. Vertingiausi tapybos darbai - 14 Kryžiaus kelio stočių paveikslų, nutapytų 1879 m. Prie bažnyčios nėra atskirai statytos varpinės, varpai kabo pagrindinio fasado bokšte.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Pakražantis; Švč. ENThe article provides an overview of the history, architecture of and the pieces of art in the Church of Annunciation of Pakražantis. For a long period of time the church was an affiliate of the Kražiai parish and only in 1921 a separate parish was founded in Pakražantis. On 18 April, 1767 the church was funded by Bonaventūras and Kievnarskytė Jasevičiai-Košučiai. The church was freshly rebuilt at the time and its interior was not fully equipped. Other sources state that the church was built and the big altar was consecrated already before the granting of the permanent foundation, i. e. on 10 July, 1765. The church was of a central plan, octagonal with an entryway, two sacristies, the roof was shingle covered and a dome and two small towers rose above the roof. Inside there were five altars. In 1767 the brotherhood of St. Mary Magdalene was founded. In 1844 three solemnities were named, i. e. celebrations of the Annunciation, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Mary Magdalene. The altars of the said titles also remain in the present-day church. The wooden church, decorated by wall painting burned down in 1879. In 1881 a new church was built, which, without any significant changes, has survived to the present day. The church is made of stone and red brick, the style is historicist. The plan of the building is reminiscent of the architecture of the wooden churches, popular in Samogitia. The altars were most likely created at the very end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century, when also the altar paintings, not outstanding with mastership were painted. The most valuable paintings are the fourteen paintings of the stops along the path of the cross, painted in 1879. There is no separate belfry by the church, the bells hang in the tower of the main façade.
