Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjama laiško, kaip kultūrinio-komunikacinio fenomeno, raiška folklorinėje tradicijoje; epistolinio pobūdžio folkloriniai motyvai lietuvių dainose. Bandoma pasekti laiško – rašytinės komunikacijos elemento – atėjimo ir įsitvirtinimo folklorinėje tradicijoje tendencijas, išryškinti ir aptarti kai kuriuos laiškų rašymo ir skaitymo ypatumus rašto besimokiusioje lietuvių kaimo bendruomenėje. Taip pat siekiama išskirti ir paanalizuoti ryškesnius epistolinio pobūdžio motyvus bendrame folklorinės tradicijos raiškos kontekste, pagrindinį dėmesį sutelkiant į "laiško / gromatėlės" rašymo, siuntimo, skaitymo folklorines manifestacijas liaudies dainose. Aktualia siekiamybe šiame tyrime laikomas ir laiško santykio su kitais populiariais įvaizdžiais (paukščio, žirgo, vėjo ir kt.) folkloro kūrinių variantuose identifikavimas. Daroma išvada, kad laiško vaizdinio populiarumas folklore rodo didelį tradicinės bendruomenės palankumą epistolinei komunikacijai bei išskirtinį dėmesį rašto kultūros elementams.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Laiškai; Gromatėlė; Epistoliniai motyvai; Komunikacija; Rašymas; Skaitymas; Letter; Epistolary motives; Communication; writing; Reading; Kultūros istorija; Laiško tema; Dainos; Tradicija; Culture history; Songs; Tradition.

ENThe subject of analysis in this article is the image of letter in Lithuanian folklore. Letter writing in the traditional Lithuanian rural community of the end of the 19th-the first half of the 20th century was perceived as an outstanding cultural activity, because of poor literacy available only to a small number of more educated persons [...]. It is very probable that against the general background of traditional cultural images, letters used to be frequently perceived not only as written messages possessing certain contents, but also as generalized symbols of news, closely linked in folklore with earlier elements of communication, such as kerchief, ring, sash, or the like. Epistolary images are characteristic to various genres of Lithuanian folklore. Yet the greatest variety of motives describing letter writing, sending, and reading is found in folksongs, especially in the military-historical and love songs. While analyzing motives of letter writing, sending, and reading against the general background of traditional folkloric images and poetic formulae, their particularly successful folkloric adaptation should be noted. In folksongs, a person writing or reading a letter usually finds himself/herself in the traditional locus communis space [...] By using classical images, the process of letter writing is also traditionally folklorized [...] The folkloric perspective of sending the letter is closely related to the traditionally established messengers, like horse, bird, wind, etc. [...] The popularity of the letter image in folklore indicates the greatest regard of the traditional community towards the epistolary communication and its exceptional interest in elements of the written culture.
