Žemės epitetas: tradicijos kaita

LTStraipsnyje apžvelgiama būdvardinių žemės epitetų tradicija lietuvių tautosakoje. Remiantis skirtingų žanrų įvairios kilmės tekstais, atskleidžiama didelė jų įvairovė. Išskiriami tipiškiausi tradiciniai atvejai, aptariama jų prasmės ir stilistinių funkcijų kaita, sąsajos su tema, žanru. Atidžiau pažvelgiama į populiariausius, nuolatinius epitetus. Stengiamasi suvokti, kokie ir kodėl kaip tik tokie požymiai pabrėžiami ir priskiriami žemei, kodėl jie įsitvirtino tautosakos poetinėje sistemoje, kaip joje funkcionavo. Išanalizavus žemės epitetus, atskleista ne tik jų semantika, stilistinės funkcijos, bet ir apčiuopti tautosakos poetikos raidos procesai. Žemė tautosakoje vaizduojama kaip nevienareikšmis, sudėtingas reiškinys. Epitetų funkcija ne vien estetinė, tam tikru atžvilgiu jie sukonkretina žemės įvaizdžio prasmę. Žemės epitetai žymi ne tik pažintą aplinką. Epitetų, apibūdinančių žemę, visuma panaši į daugiasluoksnį klodą, kuriame pėdsakų paliko skirtingų tradicinių kultūrų patirtis. Epitetai padeda išreikšti požiūrį į žemę, parodo jos vaidmenį žmogaus pasaulėjautoje, iškelia ryškiausias, vienu ar kitu laikotarpiu žmogui svarbias žemės savybes. Pastebimi skirtumai tarp epitetų vartosenos senosiose ir vėlyvosiose dainose, dainuojamojoje ir smulkiojoje tautosakoje. Dainose epitetų gausėja, jie tampa įvairesni, tačiau mažėja senųjų, nuolatinių epitetų vaidmuo, jų simboliškumas. ENThe article overviews the tradition of adjective epithets, used to describe Earth in Lithuanian folklore. Referring to texts of different genres and origins, their diversity is revealed. The most typical traditional cases are distinguished, development of their meaning and stylistic functions, relations with the subject and genre are discussed. A close look is taken at the most popular and constantly used epithets. Attempts are made to comprehend which traits are stressed and attributed to Earth and why they entrenched and functioned in the folklore poetic system. Upon analyzing the epithets, used to describe Earth, the article reveals not only their semantics and stylistic functions, but also gropes the processes of development of folklore poetics. In folklore Earth is depicted as a complex and ambiguous phenomenon. The epithets’ function is not only aesthetical, in certain cases epithets make the meaning of Earth’s image specific. The epithets, used to describe Earth, denote not only a recognized environment. The totality of epithets, used to describe Earth is similar to a multi-layered mine, in which experience of different traditional cultures left its trace. The epithets help to express the view of Earth, show its role in the man’s worldview and highlight the most prominent traits of Earth, important to a person from one or another period. The article notices the differences between the epithets’ use in the old and later songs, the sung and small folklore. The amount of epithets in songs is plentiful, the epithets are more diverse, however the role of the old and constant epithets and their symbolism is reducing, which shows both the weakening tradition and continuously developing creative process, changing relation between the man and his reality and other requirements, raised for the artistic creative and new aesthetic principles.
