ENThe article presents the architectural commissions by Józef Scipion (d. 1743), a starost of Lida, in Serokomla (Lublin Voivodeship). It was one of the largest building projects in the Sciptions family history of the first part of the 18th c. Having received the title to Serokomla after marriage with Werena Firlejówna and seeking for the post of the minister, Józef Scipion, the starost of Lida, future court marshal of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, initiated the building of a palace, service buildings and a church in 1738. The project was assigned to Paolo Antonio Fontana (1696–1795), the architect of Karol Sanguszka's manor. In the same year, an agreement was concluded with the carpenter Christoph Göltzner on building the town hall nearby the manor. The documents reveal the plans of a huge ensemble of late baroque buildings. The project was strongly linked with the artistic traditions of nobility of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Poland.
