ENThe connection between circumflex and palatalization is to be observed in the following classes of Lithuanian nominal derivatives and compounds, i.e. (1) in penult-stressed suffixed, paradigmatic and prefixed derivatives, and compounds, as well as (2) in end-stressed suffixed and paradigmatic derivatives. With the exception of suffixed derivatives having stressed vocalic (syllabic) suffixes, the remaining classes in question are directly connected with the problem of circumflex metatony.
