EN[...] Following an examination of the general scope and depth of review of Lithuanian courts, as well as the applicable procedural provisions concerning expert knowledge, this chapter analyses how Lithuanian administrative courts control administrative discretion when examining environmental cases, paying special attention to Natura 2000-related cases. After assessing the relevant jurisprudence, the chapter cocludes that scientific uncertainty is not an issue often dealt with by the administrative courts, as the courts limit themselves to evaluating the legality and reasonableness of the decisions taken by the administrative authorities.
