ENThis work aims to evaluate the importance of employee motivation measures and their influence on employee productivity after analyzing the links between employee motivation measures and productivity. In the first part of this work, a theoretical analysis of employee motivation measures and their impact on productivity are performed. It aims to clarify the motivation measures discussed in the literature, to understand the importance of employee motivation, to review motivational theories, to analyze the impact of employee motivation and productivity on companies and the economy. As well, in the first part, an overview of studies assessing the impact of employee motivation measures on productivity is brought about. The second part of the work describes the research methodology, validates the need for the research and puts forward research hypotheses. Also, in this part of the work, an analysis of the wood processing industry in Lithuania is carried out and the obtained research results are discussed, which are compared to the research results of other authors. Both the conducted research and the analysis of literature show that motivating employees is important. The study revealed that employees are most motivated by a financial motivation measure (salary supplements). According to the subjective opinion of the respondents, they would perform their work worse if no motivational measures were applied for them at work. The results of the research reveal that employees of wood processing companies are not motivated or are motivated only minimally by a free work schedule. The study did not show (the hypothesis was not confirmed) that employees who have more than three hours of leisure time per day feel more motivated at work than those who spend less time on leisure. According to the results of the study, in order for employees to be (in the subjective perception of employees - to feel) motivated, the company should maintain friendly mutual relations between employees and managers, managers should praise and thank their employees more often for their work and try to give them additional vacation days. It was also concluded that in order to avoid a decrease in the productivity of employees, companies should try not to give them low salaries, improve company communication and not to give employees too much workload.
