LTStraipsnyje pateikiami invalidumo Lietuvoje duomenys ir struktūra, supažindinama su Lietuvos Respublikos invalidų socialinės integracijos įstatymu. Straipsnyje nagrinėjami regos, klausos ir kalbos sutrikimų epidemiologiniai duomenys, supažindinama su aklųjų ir kurčiųjų medicininės, pedagoginės, profesinės ir socialinės reabilitacijos principais. Taip pat trumpai nušviečiama Lietuvos aklųjų ir silpnaregių sąjungos istorija, veikla. Pristatoma Palangos reabilitacijos centro „Baltija“, kuriame veikia aklųjų ir kurčiųjų reabilitacijos kabinetai, veikla. Supažindinama su Vokietijoje veikiančia regos ir klausos neįgaliųjų kompleksinės reabilitacijos sistema. Straipsnyje teigiama, kad bendradarbiavimas su kitų šalių reabilitacijos centrais, šių institucijų sukauptos patirties naudojimas praktiniame darbe, narystė Europos Sąjungoje pagerins regos ir klausos neįgaliųjų būklę Lietuvoje. ENThe article provides the data and structure of disability in Lithuania and gets the reader familiarized with the Law on Social Integration of Handicapped Persons of the Republic of Lithuania. The article discusses the epidemiological data of disorders of sight, hearing and speaking, gets the reader familiarized with the principles of medical, pedagogical, professional and social rehabilitation of blind and deaf persons, briefly highlights the history and activities of Lithuanian Association of the Blind and Visually Handicapped, presents information on the activities of the rehabilitation centre “Baltija“ in Palanga, in which there are consulting-rooms for rehabilitation of the blind and visually handicapped and gets the reader familiarized with the system of complex rehabilitation of visually and audibly handicapped, applied in Germany. The article states that the cooperation with other countries’ rehabilitation centers and use of the experience, accumulated by the said institutions, in practical activities as well as the membership in the European Union will improve the situation of visually and audibly handicapped in Lithuania.
