ENBased on Lithuanian and foreign literature, this article analyzes the Lean method, which emphasizes not only the usual Lean benefits for businesses but for state institutions as well. Based on the scientific literature, the first chapter describes essential Lean aspects applicable in various fields. The article describes educational activity and its new concept concerning the modern student. More and more Lithuanian companies or public institutions are adopting Lean practices, but the structure of the education sector in Lithuania is often stagnant, so this topic is new and relevant. Due to globalization processes, education is becoming a more complex subject. Students are changing; therefore, the improvement of educational activities must also proceed periodically. In the long run, applying these Lean methods in education helps teachers to spend more time with students, resulting in more time for their education. Keywords: Lean, Educational institution, Kaizen, PDCA, Asaichi. [From the publication]
