Žvalgymai Ilguočiuose

LT2016 m. spalio mėnesį čia dvi dienas žvalgyta talkinant metalo ieškiklių naudotojų klubo "MINK" nariams. Be Saulės mūšio paieškų Ilguočiuose, dėmesys kreiptas ir į galimus 1919 m. lapkričio 20–24 d. apylinkėse vykusių Lietuvos kariuomenės kovų su bermontininkais pėdsakus. Tuo metu Ilguočiai buvo viena iš antrojo Lietuvos didžiojo kunigaikščio Algirdo pėstininkų pulko pozicijų, iš kurios buvo tiek puolama, tiek ir ginamasi. Todėl greta archeologinę vertę turinčių radinių apsispręsta registruoti ir XX a. šaudmenis: gilzes, kulkas, sviedinių fragmentus. Tokie gerai datuojami XIX a. radiniai kaip Rusijos imperijos monetos (rasta 13) ar švininės plombos (6) rodo, kad kaimas palyginti neblogai gyvavo XIX a., ypač nutiesus geležinkelį. Iš rastų 11 kryželių ar jų liekanų 3 yra lieti pravoslaviški. Geležinkelis, matyt, prisidėjo ir prie kaimo klestėjimo Lietuvos Respublikos laikais-rasta net 14 5–20 centų monetų, kaldintų daugiausia 1925 m., 3 plombos. [...]. [Iš teksto, p. 470, 472]

ENIn October 2016, in checking the hypothesis of historian T. Baranauskas that the (22 September 1236) Battle of Saulė occurred in the vicinity of present day Ilguočiai village (Radviliškis district), roughly 20 ha of ploughed fields were surveyed with the help of members of the MINK metal detector users’ club. Two single bit iron axes (6th and 17th century), worn mid 17th century shillings lost in the 18th century and other 18th first half of the 20th century artefacts, and the remains of cartridges (empty cartridges and bullets) used in November 1919 battles with the Bermontians were discovered during the survey. The channelling of the Beržė Stream using earth removed from it covered the former ground’s surface and prevented the firm assertion being made that no artefacts connected with the Battle of Saulė exist at this location.
