Summary / Abstract:

LT2017 m. liepą–lapkritį LLKĮS žvalgė Lietuvos partizaninio karo vietas Druskininkų savivaldybėje, Jurbarko, Lazdijų, Raseinių ir Širvintų rajonuose, o rugpjūtį kartu su VU IF surengtos šeštosios akademinio jaunimo vasaros stovyklos-seminaro "Laisvės kovų atmintis" metu toliau kompleksiškai tyrė Balandiškio apylinkes (Radviliškio r.) (žr. ATL 2012 metais, 2013, p. 642–651; ATL 2013 metais, 2014, p. 482– 489; ATL 2014 metais, 2015, p. 587–592; ATL 2015 metais, 2016, p. 498–510; ATL 2016 metais, 2017, p. 441–450). ENIn 2017, the LLKĮS surveyed 15 Lithuanian partisan war sites in Druskininkai eldership and Jurbarkas, Lazdijai, Radviliškis, Raseiniai, and Širvintos districts. A roughly 1.15 ha partisan camp site was surveyed in Dulgininkai forest (Druskininkai eldership, Lazdijai District). The approximate size of the camp site was determined, the surviving remains of the hydroelectric power station on the Dulgelė stream were recorded, remnants of the partisan camp site were discovered, and 105 finds collected: a Mosin carbine, a Mauser K-98 carbine bolt, weapon maintenance equipment, Russian and German ammunition, partisan uniforms and clothing elements, household utensils, and construction and reinforcement elements. A survey was conducted of a partisan bunker and dugout site in Globiai forest (Jurbarkas district), three bunker sites in Šimkaičiai forest (Jurbarkas district), and two bunker sites in Mumšilis and Šaukotas forests (Radviliškis district). The historical site of the Sakalauskas (later Šimkas) farmstead was determined in Gankiai (Radviliškis district) and the death place of the partisan Kokštas in Šilai (Radviliškis district). An unsuccessful search was conducted for the place where the remains of partisan Petras Stankus-Gruodis were buried in Lapgiriai Forest (Jurbarkas district), partisan camp and battle sites in Bargailiai forest (Radviliškis district), partisan meeting and death sites in the fields of Šaukotas I village (Radviliškis district), and places where partisan archives were buried in Plauginiai forest (Raseiniai district).During a survey conducted in Ustronė (Širvintos district) to search a site suspected of being the location of buried partisan archives and a bunker, ten of finds were discovered. A German antitank mine box with Third Reich and interwar Lithuanian medals-awards, shreds of women’s clothing, and remnants of partisan documents and newspapers attest that the archives had existed at this site but had been removed at some point. A pottery jar, which was sealed with a bowl and contained a secret, a disassembled radio transmitter, was discovered in the yard of the farmstead of former partisan supporter S. Bagdonavičius. The remains of a Second World War Russian helmet were discovered beside the partisan bunker. [From the publication]
