Vydūno alėja 11A

LT2017 m. atlikti žvalgomieji tyrimai Vilkijos mieste (Kauno r.), užstatyti numatomame sklype Vydūno alėjoje 11A. Tyrimų metu iškasti 3 2x1 m dydžio šurfai-iš viso 6 m2 plotas. Po Žalgirio mūšio pergalės prieš Ordiną Vilkijoje buvo įkurtas Lietuvos didžiojo kunigaikščio dvaras, iš kurio Vytautas rašė laiškus Kryžiuočių ordino didžiajam magistrui, juose aiškiai parašytas Vilkijos vietovardis. XV a. pabaigoje Vilkija tapo valsčiaus centru ir gana greitai gyvenvietė išaugo į miestą, kuriam XVIII a. pabaigoje patvirtintos Magdeburgo teisės. [...]. [Iš teksto, p. 373]

ENIn 2017, an evaluation (three 1 x 2 m test pits totalling 6 m2 ) was conducted at Vydūno ave. 11A, Vilkija. A red brick structure, a fragment of a roughly 20–25 cm high, NW (315°)–SE (135°) building wall was found at the depth of 35–40 cm in the middle of test pit 1. Potsherds, some dating to the 16th–19th centuries, some to the 20th century, were discovered from a depth of 20 cm and a human skull fragment (os frontale) from a child of unknown age and several animal bone fragments at a depth of 40 cm near the test pit’s S end. The test pit’s N end could be excavated only 1 m down, but 16th–19th century pottery and several animal bone fragments were found. Test pits 2 and 3 contained no cultural layers or structures, only soil layers up to 2.1– 2.3 m thick with several 19th–20th century finds but little of archaeological value. [From the publication]
