Garnių piliakalnis I

LT2017 m. buvo tęsiami Garnių piliakalnio I (UK 3575) (Utenos r., Daugailių sen.) tyrimai, pradėti 2016 m. (ATL 2016 metais, 2017, p. 69–73). Šių tyrimų tikslas – patikrinti anksčiau spėto pylimo, esančio piliakalnio aikštelės PV dalyje, ryšį su VIII–VI a. pr. Kr. horizontu. Taip pat siekta išsiaiškinti 3 magnetinių anomalijų, esančių į ŠR nuo 2016 m. tirto ploto, piliakalnio aikštelės PV dalyje, kilmę, bet jų ryšys su archeologiniu kontekstu nenustatytas. [...]. ENIn 2017, the investigation of Garniai (Utena district, East Lithuania) hillfort I continued with the excavation of 48 m2 and revealed that the previously suspected site of the hillfort’s defensive fortifications (two ditches and an intervening bank) was not an actual site. All of the previously envisaged indistinct relief formations are the result of natural hill development and 20th century mechanised farming. The single period (8th–6th century bc) find collection discovered in trenches 3 and 4 consisted of 56 small finds, 482 potsherds (2181.1 g), 1.6 g of charcoal, 15.6 g of shells, and a significant quantity of zooarchaeological finds. Postholes from at least two suspected buildings were found in trench 3. No other structures (paving, hearths, etc.) were discovered, probably because of the clear destruction of the hillfort.
