Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjami lietuviškuose makroekonomikos vadovėliuose vartojami sudėtiniai terminai, sudaryti su asmenvardžiais. Apžvelgus su tokių terminų vertinimu susijusius neaiškumus, asmenvardinio ir eponiminio termino santykį, siekiama atskleisti šiuose šaltiniuose vartojamų terminų variantiškumą. Kartu ryškėja kai kurios variantiškumo priežastys, asmenvardinių terminų vartojimo ypatumai. Esminiai žodžiai: asmenvardinis terminas, eponiminis terminas, terminų variantiškumas. [Iš leidinio]

ENAlthough terms formed with a personal name, usually a surname, are used in a variety of fields, they are not widely studied in terminology works. This leads to various uncertainties both in the use of these terms and in their terminological evaluation. Here, using macroeconomics textbooks for higher education as a source, the variation inherent in these terms, referred to in the article as ‘personal name terms’, is researched. Although macroeconomics textbooks contain a varying number of terms with personal names, all of these terms are composed with a non-Lithuanian personal name, and the totality of such terms shows that their variation is in some way related to the peculiarities of the use of a non-Lithuanian personal name. It is mainly a mixed type of variation, involving the orthographic, phonetic, and morphological levels. The most striking feature of variation is the different ways in which a proper name is spelled, which is determined by the application of different spelling methods, by exceptions made for certain terms, and by individual cases of oversight. Another feature of the variation of the terms under considerations is related to the unequal morphological adaptation of non-Lithuanian personal names, which is obvious from its ending. However, the analysis of the terms also reveals term differences which are not assessed from the point of view of variation. Although most of the terms are composed of a single personal name, i. e., a surname, it is also quite common in macroeconomic textbooks to use the name of a theory, model, etc. as a term that has both a surname and the first letter of a first name. Having noted such cases, the paper calls for a separate study. Keywords: term with a proper name, eponymous term, term variation. [From the publication]
