ENThe question about the relationship between the culture of centre and that of periphery is relevant theoretically and practically. In Lithuania it is especially relevant because of the lack of social economic development in periphery in relation to the centre (capital). The cultural problems of periphery are also generated by de-agrarization of the countryside and massive emigration from it. The project of ìNationís homeî is relevant because of the danger that Lithuanian ethnic culture faces along with the threat of extinction of the nation facilitated by globalization. Today the important function of ìNationís homeî is to keep relations among Lithuanians in Lithuania and in emigration. The spread of this project into periphery is favourable for regional and local cultural development. ìFluxus ministryî project introduces people living in periphery to modern, often shocking forms of culture. This encourages people to reject stereotypes and promotes creativity.
