ENThe paper investigates the influence of globalization on the development of education. Despite the different estimations of the extent and effect of globalization on education, it is obvious that globalization inevitably conditions the development of educational systems. Frequently the manifestations of globalization in education take the national states by surprise; hence, they are not always reacted to rationally and prudently. The paper presents three possible reactions: conservative (“we will continue following the same path”), fatalistic (“we will go with the flow”) and prognostic (“it is essential to foresee the global changes as soon as possible and design an efficient policy of education”). The paper also reviews some future perspectives of education in this country on the basis of the current global tendencies. Keywords: globalization, education policy, education change.
