Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje siekiama atkurti barokinę XVII a. krosnį, remiantis kunigaikščiui Boguslavui Radvilai priskiriamame albumėlyje išlikusiu piešiniu. Pirmą kartą aptariamas krosnies piešinio istorinis kontekstas. Rekonstrukcijai naudoti Vilniuje rasti kokliai, saugomi Lietuvos nacionaliniame muziejuje. Reikšminiai žodžiai: barokinės krosnys, kokliai, krosnies rekonstrukcija, Borisovas, Varšuva, Vilnius, Kazanovskis, Radvilos. [Iš leidinio]

ENThe article offers a study of the drawings of stoves from the book Abrysy różnych Kościołów i pałaców Xięcia Jm Bogusława Radziwiłła ręką notowane (ca. 1648) which was in the possession of the princely magnate Bogusław Radziwiłł and is now stored in the National Historical Archives of Belarus, holding 694 records of the Radziwiłł princes from Nieśwież. A study of the drawings elicited interesting historical links between the nobility that lived in Warsaw, Borisov and Vilnius in the 17th century, and residences in these centres which belonged to different people. Aspects of the difficult craft of making stove tiles worked as a catalyst for cultural exchange: a bread baking oven depicted in the castle at Borisov could have been replicated elsewhere, just like a sumptuous palace stove in the Baroque style of which a sketch with its dimensions was made in Warsaw, presumably at the palace of Adam Kaza- nowski, the court chamberlain of the Kingdom of Poland and the starosta or aiderman of Borisov, and which later might have been erected in Vilnius in the palace of Prince Janusz Radziwiłł, as is evidenced by the inventory of the palace from 1680. After the death of Kazanowski in 1649, the Eldership of Borisov fell to Janusz Radziwiłł, the commander of the army of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and subsequently voivode of Vilnius.Drawings of various localities and buildings that survive in the book relate to the military campaigns to Kiev under his leadership. The assumptions made about close cultural ties between Warsaw, Borisov and Vilnius are further supported by material from archaeological excavations collected by the National Museum of Lithuania, which include copies of the stove tiles depicted in the book, according to profile, size and decoration (Figs. 1026). Based on these facts, the stove tiles most resembling those pictured in the album, and in conformity with Baroque stove faęade profiles, were selected, and a virtual reconstruction of the erstwhile stove in Warsaw was made.
