ENThis article is concerned with various expressions of commemorating Józef Piłsudski in Vilnius and in the Vilnius region. It is complemented by photos from the ceremonial deposition of the remains of Maria Piłsudska and the heart of Józef Piłsudski within a specially prepared mausoleum. The photos derive from the collections of the Northern Institute of W. Kętrzyński and from private individuals. The text is based on the latest literature, memories from the period and the press from the interwar period. On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of this event, it is worth noting that the memory of Józef Piłsudski has a special place in Warmia and Masuria - a region inhabited by displaced people from the Vilnius Region and their descendants.
