ENThis article summarizes current knowledge about emigration from Lithuania extent and nature. Studies suggest that emigrations from Lithuania are the biggest among of all European Union countries. Many authors argue that a main factor in the process is relatively low wage in Lithuania. However, such an interpretation is not sufficient and should be explored deeper problems. One of these - the rapidly growing supply of highly skilled professionals and a much lower demand for the Lithuanian labor market is imbalance. Gained qualifications equivalent to lack of jobs encourages emigration of skilled professionals working in the market or push lower skilled people for this reason they are emigrating.
