ENThe article gives a short review of the works by Polish authors on the Lithuanian princely houses, published in the scholarly magazine, “Ateneum Wilenskie”. The magazine, published by the Society for the Friends of Polish Scholarship in Vilnius from 1923 to 1939, was dedicated to the research of the history of the lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. In addition to important political, military, economic, and cultural questions, the magazine featured articles on the Lithuanian princely houses. Of special interest to researchers were the origins of the Giedymin dynasty, the ancestors of the Jagiellonians, as well as certain representatives of the hereditary line such as Giedymin’s son Koriat and his descendants, especially the Lithuanian Grand Duke Witold, the grandson of Giedymin. The authors of these publications made a signifi cant contribution to the study of Lithuanian princely houses; however, not all of their hypotheses were accepted by researchers in later periods. Keywords: “Ateneum Wileńskie”, princely houses, Giedymin, Koriat, the Lithuanian Grand Duke Witold. [From the publication]
