ENThe article focuses on literary and biographical connections that associated Natalia Gorbaniewska with Czesław Miłosz. Based on the translation of A Treatise on Poetry, the article sets out the characteristics of a perfect translator and a perfect comparative artist. Both Czesław Miłosz and Joseph Brodsky, during their cooperation with Gorbaniewska, paid special attention to her talent in rendering poetry across two languages.
