ENThe essay discusses the standpoint of the Lithuanian Catholic Church, who together with the current President supports traditional family values and neglects the Istanbul Convention recently abandoned by Turkey itself. The author of the essay argues that if we read carefully the Convention, which is against violence and social prejudice against women regardless culture or religion, traditional heterosexual family women could perhaps benefit. He thinks that there is no contradiction between family values and the Convention, because honorable women and women rights are supposed to be a part of a family that is socially responsible.
