ENFor its fifth edition, our overview of global post-medieval/historical archaeology takes a slightly different format, with a curated set of articles about the Baltic states. An introduction by Erki Russow provides an excellent context interweaving the connected histories and archaeologies of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Readers of our previous overviews will notice similar themes of colonialism and war in this year’s edition: in many ways it demonstrates the exciting progress our discipline has made in addressing these major topics on a global scale. If you are a historical/post-medieval archaeologist from a non-English speaking country and would like to provide an overview of the state of later-period archaeology in your part of the world, please contact Eric Tourigny or Sarah Newstead.
