ENIt is relevant to develop and improve the programmes of health care and education, trying to fortify one's health, block the way to the person's disability and isolation. Humanistic education, which emphasizes the person's vital power and educational resources, which is based on love and close emotional relationship, is related to health improvement. Striving for health is one of the functions of education. On one hand, strategies of health education are developed in educational processes, on the other hand, education accommodates therapeutic goals as well as goals of health improvement, so the aims of education and therapy draw together, methods become similar in the context of humanistic salutogenic education. Such interdisciplinary interlacement of methods is especially relevant in education of the children with a disability. Striving for healthiness in a sense of life quality should be emphasized in situations of special education with humanistic direction, and life quality of the disabled should be linked with communication, cooperation and self - education, because that empowers more successful socialization of a person, it means, better his or her psychosocial health. One of the most problematic objects of special education is training of the children, who have autism. Disturbed communication and social interaction are characteristic features of autism, the same way as a disorder of cognitive processes, motoricity and behaviour. The reasons, forms of coming out, peculiarities and methods of help are being searched up to now. There aren't similar cases of autism and there isn't one method as well, which would be efficacious in the same way for all the children autists. So it is important to investigate alternative opportunities of communication with an autistic child, develop or adapt the methods, which have justified themselves in practice of special education, and stimulate preparation and implantation of innovative methodics at the same time, trying to perfect programmes of education and health improvement of these children. If we want to educate and train the autistic children successfully, it is important to find out their resources and deficits as soon as possible and individually choose those activities, which motivate communication, intercourse and self - education. Esthetic and artistic expression as universal, inborn, giving inward satisfaction and self - filling way of behaviour, is important in all the aspects: physiological, psychological and social in every person's life. Art or an artistic activity helps a person to survive in this world and be healthier, embodying esthetic needs of a person. Art unites, creates and strengthens connections between people as alternative non - verbal communication. It is important to use artistic communication to help in education of the autistic children - it can be optimal means of their socialization Educating arts therapy is still a new area in Lithuania, which is applied in educational context and is connected with optimization of the process of social integration and self - educational process of the people with special needs. This therapy is also connected with realization of potential opportunities and needs (in the context of individual programme of the child's education) and correction of disorders, too.Special gained artistic and general abilities are emphasized, when arts therapy is applied in the area of education. They help a trainee to become less disable, less dependant, to feel better and be adapted in the social environment. Functional benefit and potential opportunities of arts therapy to supply the team work of special education are not sufficiently estimated in our country yet. There is a lack of investigations, dispersion of positive experience, specialized methodical programmes. Throughout the centuries inexhaustible riches of education and therapy have been created, perfected and preserved in people's art - creations of ethnomusic, ethnochoreography, folk art and narrative folklore. It is an especially valuable material, working out the programmes of artistic education and arts therapy, which are applied for the disabled, because people's art, being close for the interests and needs of local community, will involve more intensively into cultural life, better will accomplish the functions of isolation prevention, socialization and life quality.
