LTKnygoje keturiais pjūviais nagrinėjama karo istorija. Pirmiausia pristatoma mokslinių tyrimų rezultatų poveikio mokslo šakos raidai, mokslininko statusui bei karjerai ir visuomenei problema. Atsižvelgiama į mokslininko veiklos bibliometrinius duomenis, akademinius vertinimus ir kiti veiksnus. Kitas pjūvis (skyrius) - tai galima karo istorijos tyrimų struktūra. Aptariami karo istorijos tyrimų struktūros, aktualumo, naujumo, tikslo bei uždavinių, objekto ir kiti aspektai. Trečias pjūvis (skyrius) apima karo istorijos tyrimų metodų pristatymą. Įvardijamas tam tikras skaičius meto (ir pateikiama jų taikymo humanitariniuose moksluose (istorijoje) praktinių pavyzdžių. Ketvirtas pjūvis (skyrius) - karo istorijos tyrimų praktinio taikymo karybos srityje aptarimas. Suformuluoti karinių veiksmų nagrinėjimo ir vertinimo kriterijai, pateikta pavyzdžių seminarams, mokyman pratyboms. Šioje mokslo sintezėje pateikiami keli priedai, padedantys plačiau atskleisti ryšį ta karo istorijos ir karo teorijos bei karybos kaip praktinės veiklos. Leidinys galėtų būti naudingas besidomintiems istorijos ir karo bei gynybos (saugumo) studijomis įvairių studijų pakopų studentams, taip pat Krašto apsaugos sistemoje tarnaujantiems kariams praktikams, norintiems susipažinti su karo istorijos teikiamomis galimybėmis karybos srityje. [Anotacija knygoje]
ENThis book is intended primarily for BA, MA and PhD students of history and warfare. It may also be relevant in the broader context of military studies. In certain cases, it may be useful for officers, non-commissioned officers and experts in the armed forces, when organising training courses and exercises. Furthermore, there are many individuals who are interested in military history and who would like to treat their object of interest on the basis of scientific methods. The publication is essentially aimed at students and researchers who wanting to develop and improve their scientific competences. It consists of an introduction, four chapters, five supplements, a summary in English, a list of primary sources and references, an index of personal names, and a list of abbreviations. The first chapter deals with issues of identifying the implications for and the impact of scientific research and activities by a researcher on a specific field in science, society and the career of the researcher. An analysis of the differences in impact factors, and possible reasons for this, is made based on the cases of several researchers. The features of a successful academic career are discussed. This chapter should be valuable to a ingresearcher starting out, or to an undergraduate planning to embark on an academic career.Chapter 2 addresses issues relating to research questions, problems, hypotheses, aims arid objectives, novelty, relevance, the research implications for subsequent research and a researcher's career, the object of research, approaches, terminology, primary sources, and historiography. When starting to do historical research, a number of questions arise concerning the differences between relevance and novelty, the formulation of aims and objectives, the determination of the research object, the definition of a chronological framework and the selection of methods, and the discussion (presentation) of their use. There is an interdependence between answers to these questions and the expectations of readers of the research text, and it is exactly these expectations (often triggered by the grandiloquent and elaborate titles of written texts) that are critical for attitudes, criticisms and formal assessments. It is advisable for the structure of a work to ensure a correlation between the objectives, the main body of the text, and the conclusions, i.e., the first objective should be dealt with in the first section of the main body, and an answer to the "question" posed by the first objective should be given in the first section of the conclusions; and the same accordingly applies to the second objective, chapter and conclusion, and so on. In the first place, it helps readers attempting to comprehend and evaluate the coherence, nature, breadth, depth and scientific value of the research. Aims and objectives, the relevance of the topic, the object and other aspects of academic research are determined by the research problem, the essence of which lies in the contradiction between what is known and unknown, in other words, the "gap" between the reality and what we aspire to. The objective as a priority, when there are a few or a dozen objectives, means a few or a dozen priorities, while a few or a dozen priorities imply a lack of priorities. [...].
