ENThis chapter deals with the reform of Lithuanian civil procedure. The reform was principally implemented on 28 February 2002, when the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted the current Code of Civil Procedure. The authors give an overview of the aims of the reform and the sociopolitical and other conditions for the reform, the implementation measures provided for in the Code as well as how the objectives were achieved in practice. The chapter also seeks to present the potential future trends in the evolution of civil procedure. [From the publication]
