ENThe article presents a historiographical survey of the scientific papers devoted to the history of Soviet law-enforcement activity in Soviet Lithuania in 1940-1945. The authors analyse domestic and foreign publications on this issue. The findings lead to the conclusion that certain aspects of the Lithuanian history of the Second World War period, such as Lithuania’s entry into the Soviet Union in June, 1940, its Nazi occupation in June, 1941, the Lithuanian nationalists’ collaboration, are still relevant and require further research.
