Keletas štrichų paveikslų rėmams Vilniaus muziejuose: vertės aspektas, terminija ir duomenys apie tipologinę raidą

LTTyrimas skirtas paveikslų rėmų vertės aktualizavimui, stilinei raidai ir tipologijai aptarti. Atkreipiamas dėmesys į kol kas dar nesuformuotą Lietuvoje rėmų terminologiją, itin reikalingą norint sudaryti aiškią rėmų atrankos ir klasifikavimo sistemą bei pagerinti muziejų plėtros strategines kryptis1. ENPicture frames in Lithuania are not an active area of study, as such there is no information about them necessary for research, inventorying, restoration and evaluation. In this article we give a brief overview of the reasons for such deficiencies. Utilising foreign research, the development of picture frames created between the 14th and 19th centuries are analysed. The article motivates the necessity of such research as a high percentage of frames in Vilnius museums are in poor condition given the amount of damaging interventions made, which arise from a lack of understanding of this theme. Using examples found in Vilnius museums the stylistic and typological development of frames, as well as their main attributes are covered chronologically. The identification of frames is made impossible due to a lack of frame specific terminology in literature as well as restauration documentation, which is also discussed in this article. To form a better understanding of frames and their function, purpose and value are also reviewed. [From the publication]
