LTŠio darbo tikslas – rasti ir parodyti Rytinės Mažosios Lietuvos dalies, buvusio Kazikėnų, vėliau – Viešvilės valsčiaus kaimų išlikusį istorinį paveldą, senąją kaimų ir miestelių sodybų, gyvenamųjų namų architektūrą, mažosios architektūros elementus; apžvelgti tai, ką jau praradome, kadangi didelė dalis senosios architektūros jau sunaikinta praėjusių karų, gaisrų, sovietų kolektyvizacijos laikotarpiu, o statant naujus bei rekonstruojant senus sodybų, gyvenamųjų namų pastatus vis mažiau lieka senosios architektūros elementų; pateikti savo pasiūlymus. Raktiniai žodžiai: architektūra, paveldas, dvaras, kelderis, ertikis, mezoninas, lėkiai. [Iš straipsnio, p. 2004]
ENLooking at the preserved historical heritage of the villages of the former Kazikėnai (later Viešvilė) district, the old architecture of villages and towns, residential houses and elements of small architecture, one can see that a lot had been lost, because a large part of the old architecture has already been destroyed during the previous wars, Soviet collectivization; moreover, during the construction of new and reconstruction of old homesteads and residential buildings the peculiarities of the old architecture of Lithuania Minor were not or little taken into account. Remaining examples of the architecture of Viešvilė town and its surroundings, presenting the surviving historical heritage of Lithuania Minor typical of the old Klaipėda Region are described and illustrated with photos in the article. Architectural details of buildings and available photos of old buildings are reviewed. Efforts were made to pay attention to newly constructed and renovated residential and public buildings, as well as small architecture, insofar as they retain the unique traditions of old architecture typical of Lithuania Minor. When designing new buildings, restoring them, repairing facades and roofing, it is necessary to maintain their authenticity, historically established purpose of the object, expression and unique physical form, materials used, to take into account the old traditions of the region’s architecture.
