ENThe article addresses issues of the coverage of Ukrainian theme on the pages of special-interest military periodicals published in the Republic of Lithuania during the interwar period. The work relies on the use of a symbiosis of principles: the application of mathematical methods for the quantification of the contents of the reviewed subject matter and the use of a conventional qualitative method which involves a calculation of relevant keywords and a determination of the dynamics of their incidence and prevalence, as well as an establishment of the correlation between the changes in the usage of keywords and political, social and economic processes. The major publications that were subject to review by the authors include the following magazines: Trimitas, Karys, Kardas. A chronological framework of the research covers the period between 1920 and 1940. The article outlines the course of the development of communications between Ukrainian liberation movement and the interwar Lithuanian state, with special consideration given to the causes of the surge and decline of the interest in the topics related to Ukraine and Ukrainian liberation movement in Lithuanian military press within the framework of target timeline.This research is the first attempt in Ukrainian and Lithuanian historiographies to produce analysis of Lithuanian military periodical press of the interwar period for the purpose of its coverage of Ukrainian themes. This article represents a contribution to the tentative series of publications by the scholars of the Institute of Baltic Region History and Archaeology dedicated to the research of the history of Lithuanian Ukrainian relations in modern times.
